Managing Partners: David Hutton, PhD As an independent consultant, David has been providing
biotechnology/life science business development services to those in healthcare,
agriculture, food and environmental sectors for over 15 years.
Engagements include: market research, technology assessments and searches
for strategic partners. An avid entrepreneur, he has founded four
biotechnology startups, two in healthcare and two in agriculture. Prior
to consulting, David held R&D management positions with several leading
healthcare diagnostics firms (Baxter-Travenol, Calbiochem). David provides
CEO mentoring services to several organizations in the greater Bay Area.
An honors biochemistry graduate of Oxford University, England, David received
his PhD in biochemistry from the University of California at Davis.
Robert L Schock, Jr An experienced management consultant working with
small to mid-sized companies, Rob brings broad experience in finance
to VCG. This includes installing management and accounting systems,
developing funding strategies and business plans, and creating economic
models. Prior to his consulting career, Rob served as CFO of a hi-tech
manufacturing company, where he also marketed the company's technology to
Fortune 100 companies. Earlier, Rob developed and presented one and
five year financial plans to senior management and the Board of Directors
of a Fortune 100 corporation. Rob has participated in over $600 million
in institutional financings, and arranged over $22 million in individual
investor fundings. Rob has an MA from Indiana University (Economics)
and BA from Knox College (Economics).
Partner Emeritus: Stuart W Bolinger Stuart is an entrepreneur with broad ranging
P & L experience in start-ups, turnarounds and acquisitions among both
Fortune 500 and privately held companies. Stu started at Proctor &
Gamble, and served in senior management positions with Abbott Laboratories,
Shaklee, American Hospital Supply/Baxter. After consulting management experience
with Coopers & Lybrand he focused his entrepreneurial career on leading
turnarounds, start-ups and advising investors and early stage companies.
As President and co-founder of BioGrowth, a biotechnology company that
successfully isolated and patented a new therapeutic peptide, he was
successful in raising over $5 million in private investment. A Metallurgical
Engineering graduate from Purdue University, Stuart received an MBA from
Xavier University.
